AI Meal Planner — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
AI Meal Planner ("the extension") creates weekly meal plans and grocery lists. This policy explains what data it handles.
Data stored on your device
- Your meal preferences (diet, allergies, dislikes, servings, time and budget), your meal plans, grocery checkmarks and saved recipes are stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.
- A random anonymous install ID is generated to apply free-plan limits. It is not linked to your name, email or Google account.
Data sent to our server
- When you generate a plan, swap a meal or open a recipe, your meal preferences (including any wishes you type, such as ingredients to use up) and the names and ingredients of recipes you chose to include are sent to our server and processed by an AI model provider (Anthropic) to produce the result. We do not send your browsing history.
- We record anonymous, aggregated usage counts (for example "plans generated today") to improve the product.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness.
Web page access
The extension reads a web page only when you explicitly ask it to save a recipe from that page (via the right-click menu or the "Save recipe" button). It reads the page's recipe data (name, ingredients, steps, image link) and stores it locally on your device.
Payments
The extension is currently free. If paid plans are added later, payment will be handled by a payment processor, we will never see or store your card details, and this policy will be updated first.
Health information
Meal plans are general suggestions, not medical or nutritional advice. Always check ingredient labels if you have allergies.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data. To ask about data on our server, email support@weekmealplanner.com.
